The New Criteria to Play Football at LSU, You Must Be a Player Cut From an NFL Roster
By Fionn mac Cumhaill
LSU head coach, Lane Kiffin, isn’t shy about his support for allowing NFL players to return to college to play where they’ll make millions, which beats the minimum wage they’d be earning after getting cut from NFL training camps with no education to fall back on.
LSU is so adamant about taking cut NFL players on their team that it is now the criteria for getting a spot on the team. Try out for an NFL team, get cut, and only then will you be eligible for a slot in the LSU football program.
The SEC said, absolutely not. LSU said, “Gp pound sand. We are doing whatever we want. This is because we are rich and when you are loaded you hold all the cards. Money talks, and greases palms.
The SEC in turn filed a federal lawsuit suing them for violating conference rules. LSU scoffed and said, “Do your worst!”
No legit college football fan wants 28-year old NFL players competing at the college level. True college football fans don’t want college football players to be paid millions of dollars for how good they might be someday.
“It is absurd. It’s ruining college football,” I told an LSU insider.
“It’s about winning, and that costs money,” he said. “Look at Ohio State in 2024, led the FBS in NIL payroll at $20 million and won the National Championship. Curt Cignetti, head coach of Indiana, said their payroll was between $15 million and $40 million, which was probably closer to $40 million and they won the National Championship. What are you missing? You think this is all new? It ain’t. Only now it is public record.”
“They also had 47 players between the age of 22 and 25. There is no concrete number how many players over 25 were on the team. Our request for a comment went unanswered.”
“Nitpicking.”
“That’s shady is what it is.”
“That’s reality and reality bites hard and dirty.”
“That doesn’t make any sense.”
“This is a cutthroat business. And it is a business, nothing more. You think sports has some divine providence that functions on competition and bragging rights? You are a fool if you do.”
