About

The Friday Afternoon Lampoon, LLC

The Friday Afternoon Lampoon is a publication that touches on interesting topics. The articles are well thought out, occasionally brutal, potentially humorous, compelling; a lighter take on heavier topics, a heavier take on lighter topics, hokey when uncomfortable, factual when factual, often outerworldly, and a buffet of unpredictability. We explore the niches and crevices, intercoastals, canals, back alleys, zocalos, and other dark, humid corners of this weird, sticky, chaotic, peculiar, beehive of a world. Jump on board. The tickets are cheap and the ride fast and provocative. Hold on. It might get a bit bumpy. Don’t be a bore. Here we go.

I was born and raised just outside New York City, in Croton-on-Hudson. By the age of 10, I knew I wanted to be a journalist and write for newspapers. I got my first taste of the newspaper world, not as a writer, but as a delivery boy for the Grunion Gazette in Long Beach, California. My journalism career as a writer, however, started at an expatriate English-language community newspaper based in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico, The Mazatlan Messenger. My audience consisted of pirates, fugitives, smugglers, surfers, bohemians, alcoholic retirees, and cartel members trying to learn English. It was a tough and rowdy crowd. Over the years I have written for and contributed to numerous newspapers and magazines including The Plain Dealer (Cleveland, OH), the Tennessean, the Bristol Herald Courier, the Mooresville Tribune, the Statesville Record & Landmark, The Guadalajara Reporter, the Lake Norman Citizen, the Sentinel-Progress (Easley, SC), The Mazatlan Post, The Mexico Daily Post, the Oaxaca Times, G&E Magazine, UK History Magazine, Cortland Gazette (Cortland, NY), and several others.

I am a traditional artist, a K-pop enthusiast, a friend of all animals and an avid traveler when I can find the time to get away.

I hope to one day learn how to play the guitar, become fluent in Japanese and live on a farm.

I protected and served the public in the law enforcement profession for over 30 years. In several of my department assignments, I led teams of detectives responsible for investigating a myriad of violent crimes which required extremely comprehensive follow-up. Now retired from policing, I fuel my investigative mindset with a fascination and interest in Alien existence, UFO/UAP sightings, paranormal activity, ancient civilizations, consciousness, conspiracy theories, and the future of humanity.
